Yellow Twig Dogwood is a deciduous flowering shrub best known for its bright yellow-green stems, which bring strong color to the winter landscape after the leaves fall. Flat clusters of small white flowers appear in late spring, followed by pale berries that attract birds and other wildlife. Its green summer foliage may develop yellow, orange, or reddish tones in fall. Yellow Twig Dogwood works especially well in rain gardens, naturalized areas, moist borders, wildlife gardens, mass plantings, and mixed shrub beds.

Notes
Yellow Twig Dogwood produces its brightest stem color on young growth. Remove some of the oldest, dullest branches near ground level in late winter or early spring to encourage fresh yellow stems. It grows best in consistently moist, organically rich soil and can tolerate wetter locations where many shrubs struggle. Full sun generally produces the strongest winter stem color, although the plant also grows well in part sun. It may spread by suckers and form a colony if left unmanaged.
