How to Use Our Search Plants Feature

Our Search Plants feature is designed to help you quickly find helpful information about the plants listed in our plant database. Whether you’re looking for a certain hydrangea, flowering shrub, tree, perennial, or another plant we’ve added, this search tool makes it easier to browse plant information without having to scroll through the whole site.

KNOW YOUR GROWING ZONE

Find Your USDA Plant Hardiness Zone

Knowing your growing zone can help you choose plants that are better suited to your local winter temperatures. Use the official USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map to enter your ZIP code and find your zone.

Hardiness zones are based on average annual extreme minimum winter temperatures. Sunlight, soil, moisture, and summer heat also affect how well a plant grows.

To get started, simply type the name of the plant you’re looking for into the search box. You can search by a full plant name, such as Limelight Hydrangea, Annabelle Hydrangea, or Rose of Sharon, or you can type part of the name, such as hydrangea, butterfly, gardenia, or viburnum. As you search, the results will only show plant-related posts from our plant lookup section, so you can stay focused on plant information instead of regular blog posts or other website content.

Have a plant question or need help identifying a problem? Visit Bobby & Lynn’s Garden Forum to ask questions, share photos, and get friendly gardening help.

Each plant result may include helpful details such as the plant’s common name, growing habits, sunlight needs, bloom time, mature size, pruning tips, and general care information. Some plants may also include notes about where they grow best, how much water they need, whether they attract pollinators, and what kind of yard or garden setting they work well in.

This feature is especially useful if you’re trying to compare plants before choosing what to add to your yard. For example, you can search for hydrangeas to compare different varieties, look up flowering shrubs for color ideas, or find plants that may work well in sunny or partly shaded areas. It’s a simple way to learn more about plants before planting, pruning, watering, or buying.

Please keep in mind that our plant database will continue to grow over time. If you search for a plant and don’t see it listed yet, that doesn’t mean we won’t add it later. We’re always working on adding more plant profiles, care tips, photos, and helpful growing information for gardeners in Georgia and the Southeast.

Our goal is to make plant information easy to find, easy to understand, and practical for real yards. Use the search box anytime you want to look up a plant, compare varieties, or learn more before you plant something new.

At Bobby & Lynn’s Plant Farm, we believe gardening shouldn’t feel complicated. This plant search tool is here to help you find clear, useful information so you can make better choices for your yard, your soil, and your growing conditions.
