Annabelle Hydrangea is a classic smooth hydrangea prized for its enormous, rounded clusters of creamy white flowers. The blooms emerge with a soft green tint, mature to bright white, and often fade back to green as they age. Its dependable summer flowers brighten shady borders, woodland gardens, foundation plantings, and mixed shrub beds. Annabelle also makes an excellent cut flower, and its dried blooms can be enjoyed in arrangements long after the growing season ends.

Notes
Annabelle Hydrangea blooms on new wood, so it can be pruned in late winter or early spring without removing the upcoming season’s flower buds. It’s very large flower heads may cause the stems to bend or flop after heavy rain, so planting several shrubs together or providing support can help keep them upright. In hot Southern gardens, morning sun with afternoon shade is best. Keep the soil consistently moist but avoid areas that remain waterlogged.
