Black-eyed Susan is a cheerful flowering perennial known for its bright golden-yellow, daisy-like flowers with dark brown centers. The long-lasting blooms appear from summer into fall and attract butterflies, bees, and other beneficial pollinators. Black-eyed Susan is heat tolerant, easy to grow, and well suited for pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, wildflower areas, borders, and mass plantings. Its seed heads can be left standing through winter to provide food for birds and add seasonal interest to the garden.

Notes
Black-eyed Susan grows and flowers best in full sun but can tolerate some part sun. Once established, it handles heat and short periods of drought well. Deadheading faded flowers may encourage additional blooming, while leaving some seed heads in place provides food for birds during fall and winter. Divide crowded plants every few years to maintain healthy growth and flowering.
