Chinese Snowball Bush is a large, showy viburnum prized for its enormous, rounded flower clusters that resemble white snowballs. The blooms usually begin lime green before maturing to creamy white, creating an impressive display in spring. This fast-growing shrub works beautifully as a specimen plant, flowering hedge, privacy screen, or small ornamental tree in larger Southern landscapes.

Notes
Chinese Snowball Bush is not a hydrangea, even though its large rounded blooms look similar. The flowers are sterile and generally don’t produce fruit. Prune immediately after flowering because pruning later in the season may remove developing flower buds. It prefers moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soil and may remain partly evergreen during mild Southern winters.
